KASTELLET

Kastellet is located south of Langelinie, just a beautiful 7-minute walk away, and is one of Northern Europe’s finest and best-preserved fortifications. Today, it is a popular recreational oasis for locals. The castle dates back to 1662 when it was built under Frederik the Third and forms the northernmost part of the city’s old ramparts. The structure is still used as a barrack and workplace for the Danish Military Defence. The scenic green surroundings and the unique star-shaped pathway make it a popular spot for walking or jogging.
